Please note that the testing equipment used for the inspection can detect an improperly extinguished check engine light, so the only solution that will allow you to pass the inspection is to have the cause of the light repaired. Another step you can take to help ensure your vehicle passes the inspection the first time is to drive your vehicle for at least 20 minutes before you arrive at Big Apple Automotive to have the inspection done. Driving your car for about 20 minutes brings the motor oil, coolant and catalytic converter to the proper operating temperature. You’ll save time when having the inspection done if you bring in your vehicle with the engine warmed and running at the right temperature because the technician performing the inspection will often warm up the vehicle in the shop. If your car is already warmed up, you’ll save time in the shop. Ensuring the engine is properly warmed up will also increase the chances of it passing the inspection.
